COUNSELLING & INTEGRATIVE ARTS PSYCHOTHERAPY
I have a private practice near Rye with clients coming from all over including Ashford, Brighton, Hastings, Tonbridge, Maidstone and London. I am a fully qualified and registered Integrative Arts Psychotherapist and a Relationship Counsellor and have been in private practice in the Ashford area for over two decades. I offer a confidential service and a compassionate, creative approach to resolving problems and healing.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist I am experienced in helping people of all ages, children(one of whom did the picture on the left when she was feeling altogether better), families, and groups with a wide range of problems, such as depression, relationship issues, anger management (check my D.I.Y page for ideas on this Click Here), abuse, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Some people choose to come for personal development and life choices because this form of psychotherapy is very potent and insightful for those seeking personal growth.
Counselling or Integrative Arts Psychotherapy? The choice is yours. I can offer either or a combination of both, depending on the nature of your concerns. To find out more see other pages. And how about trying out an exercise right now on my D.I.Y page (Click Here)?
The arts provide extra potential for expression and healing. I have been trained at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (To visit IATE just Click Here) to work with various media including painting, clay, sandplay (see the next page for an example of this), drama, poetry and music. Each art form offers a unique approach and can meet a different need. It is a well-known fact that children find it easier to communicate using the arts and through play, but adults can get a lot out of this too without there being any need to be good at doing them. That's not the point. This non-judgemental approach is about having time to safely explore and reach a deeper understanding through the use of a symbolic medium. More often than not exploring in this way leads naturally to healing and a more positive sense of Self.
My therapy practice is located at The Old Dairy, Oxenbridge Farm, Wittersham Road, Iden, East Sussex TN31 7UY, a very beautiful, peaceful location which clients have commented on as being therapeutic in itself! It is 2 miles from the ancient town of Rye which has a railway link to Hastings, Brighton and Ashford, and people come to me from all these places and beyond for Counselling and Arts psychotherapy. It is also on a bus route between Rye and Tenterden which drops you outside the entrance. There is ample parking outside the therapy rooms which are situated on the ground floor.
Since 2013 I have been an Associate with Equine Affinity ( for more Click Here where you will find a picture of me with a horse!). This is a very exciting project working with horses in a therapeutic context with people of all ages - individuals, couples and groups.
I am also delighted to be in the process of setting up a NEW psychotherapy service for pupils at Frewen College in Northiam, East Sussex ( Click Here).
